If you're coming from the north...
take SLE/TPE, exit to Pasir Ris Drive 12 which turns right into Pasir Ris Drive 3. Go along Pasir Ris Drive 3 until you pass Aranda Country Club on your left. At the immediate junction, turn left into Pasir Ris Close.
Go along this road and turn into Jalan Loyang Besar. Take this small lane until you see the road sign directing you to aloha loyang (a left-turn, after which you should take the road winding right).
On your left, you would pass by Costa Sands and a public carpark. Go straight ahead and you'll arrive at aloha loyang.
If you're coming from the west...
take TPE/SLE, exit to Loyang Avenue (towards Pasir Ris Town). Travel along Loyang Avenue and turn left into Pasir Ris Drive 3. You'll come to a cross-junction where you'll see NTUC Downtown East. Turn right into Pasir Ris Close. **

Activities: BBQ at evening, games, free for all...

What to bring: Bring EXTRA clothes and wear dark-coloured clothes (wet games), games, cards, mahjong, ANYTHING!

Write a proposal for the Board of Directors to tell them your choice of industries which will provide the best returns on investments and explain your reasons for your recommendations.
Use of Geographical concepts and Mathematics to justify your recommendations will be expected.
In your proposal, consider the following factors :

Special requirements and their availability for the product ( climate, season, special factors that the product may need such that its productivity can be maximized etc.)
Use of latest technology such as genetic engineering to increase the productivity of the product

Stability of labour supply and the type of labour required ( i.e. any specialized knowledge required? )

What steps do I take to complete the task?
Part A:
You are to work in a group of 4 to 5 members.
Assign a leader for the group and roles for all group members.
Part B:
1. Research on the industries that you will be investigating on your learning journey.
2. Analyze and collate the relevant information
3. Write down the sources ( website addresses) you have used
4. Print the collated information
Part C ( Learning Journey )
- Gather additional information during the visits by
- taking photographs ( assign one take photos or video-tape
- collecting artifacts/brochures
- collecting samples of products
- conducting interviews with the people working in the industries
- video-taping relevant processes/activities/people
- keeping a learning log
- collecting data on crop yields/tonnage/quantity etc for a week, month, year
- any other suitable research methods
- In addition to the written proposal for English Language, you are to decide on the method of presentation to your schoolmates during the school assembly.
Use of posters, charts, graphs, decision-making matrix etc to show the board how you have arrived at your decision.
Your presentation must be about 8 minutes in length, and have visual aids. ( Avoid powerpoint presentation if possible )
Remember your task is to convince the board your choice of industry.

Rules & Regulations for Student Participants
Code of Conduct:
- Maintain protocol and decorum to uphold the good name of our country and Anglican High School
- Observe exemplary behaviour and show consideration and respect for others at all times
- Exhibit social graces such as being polite to others. Do not form cliques. Do not, by word or action, offend the sensitivities of others.
- Respect the laws, customs and traditions of the country you are visiting.
- Place group interest before self interest.
- Be familiar with the details of the programme for the learning journey you are on.
- Show enthusiasm, participate actively and carry out the tasks you are assigned to do during and after the field-trip in a serious manner.
- No excessive noise in coach or during the trip
- No student is to pursue his/her own activity. Do move in assigned groups (especially to toilets etc.) and at least in threes.
- Be responsible and take proper care of your passport and personal belongings at all times. (Bring not more than S$20.)
- Appropriate actions will be taken against any student found guilty of breaking any of the rules.
- Half uniform i.e school or CCA T-shirt and skirt/pants; socks & shoes
- Do not wear any jewellery
- pen & notebook for taking down notes for assignment.
- a cap or an umbrella.
- own snacks and light refreshments if you wish to
What to do when you feel unwell on the journey
